Instructions on changing colors of ears and earrings; make sure to read everything!
What you need:
-	It is recommended you carefully read the catalog before using this instruction. You can find it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kZUaJN4b2RUJguGEdZ0Kad-0842WAOfz/view?usp=sharing
-	A picture editing software of your choice. I recommend GIMP or Photoshop.
-	Basic understanding of simple photo editing
-	Depending on what you want to change. The main skin color of your skin in hex and the .png file of your skin.

How do I get the .png file of my skin?
1.	Open the website: https://namemc.com/
2.	Type your exact Minecraft username in the search bar and press Enter
3.	Click on your profile
4.	Click on your skin head below your skins 3D model
5.	Click the download button on the right side of the model

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Preparation:
To change and work with files you have to unzip the pointy ears texture pack

Understanding directories:
1.	Open the unzipped texture pack
2.	Navigate to ./assets/minecraft/

Here you will find 3 directories:
-	models
-	optifine
-	textures

You will only need the textures directory.
Navigate to ./assets/minecraft/textures/item/pumpkins/custom/
Here you will find the .png files needed for changing colors.

You can change 8 different items in this texture pack
- normal elf ears (files: customelf_leftear.png; customelf_rightear.png)
- elf ears with button earrings (file: custom_button.png)
- elf ears with normal earrings (files: elfearring_left_custom.png; elfearring_right_custom.png)
- elf ears with piercings (files: elfpiercing_custom.png)
- elf ears with cross piercing (files: elfcross_custom.png)
- elf ears with frieren earring (files: frierenearrings_custom.png)
- cat ears (files: catears_left_custom.png; catears_right_custom.png)
- cat ears with fur (files: catears_left_custom.png; catears_right_custom.png; catearsFur_right_custom.png; catearsFur_left_custom.png)

Note: If you only want to change the color of an elf ear accessory you will still have to texture the normal elf ears!!!
Important: You can find the names for you new textures at the end

Coloring the textures:
1. Open any of the files you need with a photo editing software of your choice
2. Change either the pink or purple color to whatever you like. What it changes exactly is specified in its name.
3. For the normal elf ears you will want to color the parts accordingly:
   a. Pink: the main color of the ear, use the main skin color here
   b. Purple: The shadows of the ear, use a slightly darker version of your main skin color here
   c. Red: Your ear hole, use a slightly changed version of your main skin color here
4. Export the files as .png without changing the name of the original file; changing the name will result in the texture not loading in Minecraft.

Note: While you are still testing/coloring you don't have to worry about the next step. Only go on if everything is properly working/textured.

Activating the texture pack:
1.	Navigate to ./pointyEars/
2.	Select the files 'assets', 'pack.mcmeta', ‘pack.png’
3.	Navigate to 'Share' in the File Explorer (top left)
4.	Select the yellow folder called 'zip'
5.	Name the file 'pointyears.zip'
6.	Drag the 'pointyears.zip' file into the resourcepacks folder. You can now activate the texture pack.
7.	Rename a carved pumpkin to its specified name (see down below)
